Sometimes simple is best. For many years Rhayader Round the Lakes race has tweeked the route and added 'twiddly bits' to achieve a specific distance while maintaining safety for runners and marshals. The route has gone from 20 miles to 30km and included sections of out and back which cost our team lots of marshals on the day, added nothing to the enjoyment of the route, and in some cases actually added some dangerous road crossings for the runners. Phew! That was a blast! RTL 2026 was indeed a great success, even the weather played nicely. For good events not to loose their edge, its important to see if anything could be improved; that's exactly what the Committee did this week. We thought you might like to see a list of entrants and bib numbers for each race so that registration is smoother and quicker. The lists will also help you see who else you know is running. Then you could: a) share a lift b) plan to use them as your pacer c) plan to beat them Nothing wrong with a bit of healthy rivalry!
