Can I transfer my entry to someone else?

Yes. You can do this in RiderHQ yourself up to the cut-off date.Log into RiderHQ sign in HereFind your entryClick ‘view details’From the drop down menu at the top choose “substitute someone else"If you know their details you can enter them or you can opt to send them a link to fill in their details.In RiderHQ there is NO OPTION to reclaim the cost of your entry from the substitute runner. Selling of places is a private matter which Round the Lakes and RiderHQ takes no part in.

How do I swap races?

You can do this by logging into you RiderHQ account if there are places available in the race you want to swap to.You can move from 30km to 10km with no refund or move from the 10km to 30km where you will have to pay the additional entry fee.Log into your RiderHQ account here

What happens if I want to alter my entry details?

What happens if I can’t run the race?

Accepted Answer

There is no option to defer to another year or get a refund. You can swap races if there are places available or substitute someone else. If you have no one to substitute and you simply want to withdraw from the race, log into your RiderHQ account, choose VIEW ENTRY then choose DELETE.Your place will then be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

What if I miss the cut off date for entries?

There are no exceptions after we close entries so please don’t ask.

Can I switch to another race on race day?

Accepted Answer

No. Your race bib includes a timing chip and is printed with your first name and has a coloured stripe specific to the race you entered. If you run a different race to that on your bib it skews our results and you will be disqualified.

Is there a maximum number of runners for each race?

Yes.Round the Lakes race is limited to 1,000 entrants The 10km race to 250 runners.

Is there a waiting list if the race gets full?

Yes - each race has a waiting list of 20 places automated within RiderHQ. Both entries and the waiting list fill very quickly so book on early!

How waiting lists work:
- Anyone signing up for the full race in RiderHQ will be added to the waiting list up to a maximum of 20.
- If a place becomes availbale RiderHQ will send a link to the 1st person on the waiting list.
- That person has 24 hours to use the link and enter the race.
- If they don't use their link within 24 hours, a new link is sent to the next person on the waiting list.
- A place on the waiting list then become available for a new person to join.

Is there a cut off time?

Rhayader Round the Lakes Race (approx 29km) YES! There is an expectation that entrants will have a level of fitness commensurate with this race and walking the entire route is not be permitted. The cut off point is at approx 24.3km / 15 miles The cut off time at this point is 4 hours There is a further expectation of a finish time of within 4 hours 30 minutes.The cut off point chip timing mat will be located at the final water station (WS4 on the route map). If runners fail to reach this point within 4 hours they will be asked to leave the race by the sweep vehicle. If possible the sweep vehicle will drive these runners to the finish.Round the Lakes 10km race - NO CUT OFF TIME

Can I wear headphone during the races?

Because both races use roads which are NOT closed, you CANNOT wear in ear or over ear headphones. Any runner seen wearing in ear or over ear headphones can be disqualified.Bone conducting head phones are permitted but not encouraged.REF  UKA Rule T55 S5

What does disqualification mean?

If you are disqualified during the race you will be asked to stop running and remove yourself from the race. If you are disqualified after the race has finished your time will not be published and your entry (including your club name if relevant) will show as disqualified.

Yes, 10km the water station is at the turn around, halfway point. see map  Round the Lakes at approximately every 6k around the course ( 4 locations) see map

What other facilities and services will there be at race start + finish / race HQ?

There will be a couple of food concessions offering hot food and drinks; pre and post race massages; plus some local organisations and running related goods. Please note that some of these services may operate on a cash only basis.

Is there secure storage for bags?

YES! Your race number will have an integrated tear-off strip to use at the free secure bag drop run by the Rhayader Guides. This is free, but the Guides will happily receive donations.

Are there toilets around the course?

Yes! On the Round the lakes course there are toilets at:9km Pont ar Elan13.5km Graig Goch public toilets over bridge at top dam 24km Water Station 4.The most convenient toilets for the 10km race are at water station 4 which is a few metres further on from the turn around point for the 10km race.

Rhayader Leisure Centre REGISTRATION
Rhayader Central Car Park PUBLIC TOILETS - recently refurbished and a charge applies (can be paid electronically)
Smithfield RACE START AND FINISH site there will be a bank of around 20 portaloos available all day.

Where can I park on race day?

Parking on Race Day
 Parking in Rhayader can get busy on Round the Lakes day, so we recommend arriving early and leaving plenty of time to find a spot, register, and warm up.

There is limited parking available in town, including at the Leisure Centre and nearby streets, but these can fill up quickly. 
Car sharing is a great option — not only does it help reduce congestion, but it’s also a nice way to travel together and share the race-day buzz.
 Please be mindful of local residents and avoid blocking driveways or parking on verges. Stewards will be on hand to help direct you where possible.

Allow extra time, especially if the weather is poor — we want everyone to arrive relaxed and ready to run!
