Volunteer Spotlight – Meet the People Behind the Race

Updated: Jul 19

Rhayader Round the Lakes isn’t just about runners — it’s about the amazing volunteers who make it all happen. From setting up water stations to marshalling the course and cheering everyone home, these local legends are the heartbeat of the event.

The Heart of the Race – Celebrating Our Volunteers

Behind every runner crossing the finish line at Rhayader Round the Lakes is a team of dedicated volunteers making it all possible.

From early-morning setup crews and friendly faces at registration, to marshals guiding runners along the course and the cheerful voices at water stations — our volunteers are the heartbeat of the event. Their encouragement, energy, and generosity help create the warm, welcoming atmosphere our race is known for.

It’s not just about handing out water or giving directions (though we’re very grateful for both!). It’s about being part of something special — a local event that brings people together year after year, rain or shine.

We’re proud to say that many of our volunteers return every year, and we’re always thrilled to welcome new faces. Whether you’re a runner taking a year off, a local looking to get involved, or someone who just enjoys helping out — volunteering is a fantastic way to be part of race day without lacing up your trainers.

Interested in joining us for next year’s event? Keep an eye out for volunteer sign-ups — or drop us a line on email or facebook messenger. We would love to have you on board

Thank you to every single person who gave their time and energy in 2025. We couldn’t do it without you.
